What an amazing trip, tip of North Island to Dunedin on extreme south end of South Island. I thought Canada had scenery but I was humbled by what I saw in New Zealand diverse beauty and hospitality. One of our fondest memories is of our stay at Karikari Lodge. Paul and Kathlina were incredible hosts with great accommodation options. They helped make our Northern visit remarkable. We hired a fellow to takes us for a drive on Ninety Mile beach, collected Tuatua’s and had them with fresh Swordfish for lunch. Drove up a creek bed into the sand dunes on our way to Cape Reinga. Here we could see the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean and the Tasmin Sea.
